Saying “NO” to Good Things

One of the things that our church staff has begun to adopt this year is the Simple Church model.  In this model, we focus on a few things to keep moving people forward toward spiritual maturity.  Within our student ministry we desire to lead students to go ALL IN for God.  We seek to do this by helping students to CONNECT with God, CONNECT with Others, and CONNECT with Service.

Anyway, this past week I was presented with an opportunity in which our student ministry could have become involved.  While the opportunity is a good thing, it is not the BEST thing for our student ministry.  As I have continued to grow in ministry, I have realized that sometimes we have to say “NO” to good things because it would take away from the best thing.  Saying “NO” makes room for us to be able to stay focused on our main thing – Leading students to go ALL IN.

So what do you need to say “no” to?
